There’s something extra sweet about watching brand new parents settle into life with their first baby, and Waylon’s newborn session was one of those sessions that just felt so peaceful from beginning to end. ❤️

This sweet boy came into my Knappa, Oregon newborn studio and was quite possibly one of the sleepiest, most laid back babies ever.

Seriously... Waylon understood the assignment. 😂

He slept through almost everything, let me pose and wrap him without a care in the world, and was just completely content the entire time. Every newborn session is different because every baby is different, so when you get a little guy this chill, you absolutely soak it up!

And watching his mom and dad with him made the session even sweeter.

There is something so special about those first few weeks as first time parents. You’re learning this brand new little person while simultaneously figuring out a completely new version of your own life. The tiny stretches, sleepy snuggles, little noises, the way they fit perfectly against your chest. it all feels so normal while you’re living it, and then somehow they change overnight.

That’s one of the biggest reasons I love newborn photography.

I’m not just photographing what your baby looks like right now. I want to preserve all of those tiny details that are going to be so hard to remember a few years from now, Waylon’s little fingers, his sleepy expressions, his tiny features and just how small he looked in Mom and Dad’s arms.

My newborn studio is located in Knappa, Oregon, just outside of Astoria on the Oregon Coast. Sessions are intentionally relaxed and fully baby led. There’s no expectation that your newborn needs to sleep the entire time or cooperate perfectly. We stop for feeding, changing, snuggling and whatever else baby needs.

Waylon just happened to make my job VERY easy.

Congratulations to this sweet new family of three. Getting to document the very beginning of your story as Mom and Dad was such an honor, and I hope someday you look back at these photographs and can remember exactly how it felt when your little boy was still this tiny.
